JUDGMENT

1. In early morning on the 9th March, you parked somewhere near a theatre. When a party of policemen approached you in number of four, you suddenly sped away narrowly missing one. You turned right in such a manner that the left portion of your car scraped the ground. You pleaded guilty. It is now submitted on your behalf that mitigation was not properly made before the learned Magistrate. The matters have now been fully canvassed before this Court, but I do not see any mitigating circumstances to warrant an interference with the penalty imposed by the court below. The holder of a driving licence is expected to exercise more care and should all the more realise the implications than a provisional licencee. In the circumstances, the appeal against the sentence must be dismissed and the sentence affirmed.
