J U D G M E N T

----------------------

 

1. The appellant who is aged 16 pleaded guilty to 4 robberies - the victims were aged between 13 and 16. These robberies were committed by the appellant with other young persons.

2. The probation report was unfavourable. The magistrate very properly sent her to a Training Centre.

3. The appellant has been in custody for 4 months - she is pregnant and is expected to give birth in December. On purely humanitarian grounds I allow the appeal and substitute therefore a sentence of 1 year's imprisonment suspended for 2 years.
